Britemy preschool tutor expertise

Tutors Who Are Happy to Sit on the Floor with Your Little One

We select tutors with real hours teaching young children, with patience and a warm voice. Academic background matters, and so does the discipline to not rush a correction.

Children aged 3 to 5 sit inside a silent period, when they absorb the language long before they dare to produce a first word. Britemy tutors understand this stage and celebrate every word that finally arrives.

1

English literature or early-childhood degrees

Our tutors hold degrees in English literature or early-childhood education, so both language structure and child development stay in trusted hands.

2

Trained storytellers

Tutors can switch voices for each character, know when to pause and ask a question, and are patient enough to let your little one respond at their own tempo.

3

TESOL or TEFL for Young Learners

Where available, we prioritize tutors certified in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) or TEFL with a young-learner track, as a method safeguard.

4

Playful consultation before regular sessions

Before any paid package, tutors run a WhatsApp consultation so your little one gets acquainted. If chemistry feels off, we swap tutors at no extra cost.

Levels

Language Development Map for Preschoolers

Each level is tailored to the starting point and the target of every student. The tutor adjusts pace and depth as progress unfolds.

    Age 3 to 4
    • Names colors, numbers 1 to 10, and animal names

Method

How Britemy Invites Your Little One into English

Children aged 3 to 5 learn best when they are playing, moving, and feeling safe. We design each session so that joy comes first and English words follow naturally.

01

Warm-up with a hello song

The first minute opens with a simple greeting song like Hello Song while waving hands. The goal is to melt any shyness and switch your little one into play mode from the very start.

02

TPR, listen and act

TPR (Total Physical Response) means learning a language through body movement. The tutor says stand up, jump, clap while acting it out. Your child mirrors the movement first, and the English word settles in.

03

Interactive story time

The tutor reads a short picture book such as Brown Bear or The Very Hungry Caterpillar. Your little one points at pictures, names the colors, and copies the animal sounds. We chase joyful exposure; memorization arrives on its own later.

04

Short themed play

After the story we play flashcard guessing, color matching, or an English Simon Says. The game lasts about seven minutes so the session stays fun and never drains your little one's focus.

05

Closing and a note for parents

We close with a bye-bye song, a digital sticker, and a short note listing the new words practiced today plus a link to the song, so parents can replay it together at home.

Why Britemy

Why Parents Choose Britemy

One tutor per little one

The tutor focuses fully on a single child. There is no waiting for turns as in a playgroup, and no louder child taking over the room.

Tutors matched to character

We handpick tutors who are patient, softly spoken, and experienced with early-childhood learners. If the fit is off, we swap tutors free of charge.

Preschool-friendly session length

The 25-minute session mirrors the attention span of a 3 to 5-year-old. We never push a 60-minute class that turns boredom into tears.

Parents welcome to stay nearby

During the session, parents are welcome to sit close by or peek in from beside the laptop. Full transparency, always.

Songs, stories, and games in rotation

We weave nursery rhymes, picture books, and movement games into one session. Your little one hardly notices they are learning English.

Short weekly report

Parents receive a short note listing new words mastered, favorite songs, and playful tips to keep the momentum at home.

Flexible at home or over video call

Tutors can visit at home in Britemy's covered cities, or teach over video call wherever your little one happens to be.

Native vs Local

Native or Local Tutor for Your Little One? We Are Honest

Many parents ask: is native better than local for preschool? Britemy's answer is not absolute, it depends on your little one's goals and developmental stage. Here is an honest per-dimension comparison so you can decide with a clear head.

Accent and intonation
Native

Truly native accent (US, UK, AU) from birth. Your little one picks up natural rhythm through songs and stories.

Local

Clean international accent (C1-C2 CEFR), TESOL/CELTA for Young Learners trained. Local alumni tutors from abroad are equivalent.

Britemy pick

For ages 3-5, accent is not the main goal. What matters most is consistent, playful exposure.

Empathy with early years
Native

Untrained native may not understand Indonesian preschooler dynamics (Bahasa Indonesia mother tongue, silent period, mood swings).

Local

Indonesian local tutor understands your little one: when shy, when tired, when to switch activity. Natural empathy.

Britemy pick

For ages 3-5, local tutor is more adaptive. Native becomes an option after your little one is confident.

Patience with silent period
Native

Trained native understands silent period. Untrained natives sometimes rush for responses.

Local

Britemy local tutors are trained specifically on silent period. Patient waiting for your little one to be ready in their own time.

Britemy pick

For silent period phase (usually first 3-6 months), local tutor is far calmer.

Bridge language
Native

Most natives cannot speak Bahasa Indonesia, cannot bridge instruction if your little one gets stuck.

Local

Local tutor can switch to Bahasa Indonesia when your little one is confused, but minimally (5-10% total session).

Britemy pick

Ages 3-5 need occasional Bahasa Indonesia bridge. Local is more suitable.

Story-time and songs
Native

Native understands story intonation naturally, but may not know Indonesian favorite children's songs.

Local

Local tutor bridges Indonesian songs to English, plus knows international nursery rhymes.

Britemy pick

Local tutor for cultural bridge. Native for polishing storytelling intonation.

Schedule and cost
Native

Native fee 1.5-2x local, timezone can be issue if based abroad.

Local

Local tutor fee more affordable, same timezone.

Britemy pick

For routine 2x/week sessions, local tutor is more sustainable long-term.

Britemy Pick

For your little one aged 3-5, Britemy default recommends TESOL/CELTA for Young Learners certified local tutors. After first words emerge (usually 3-6 months), you can request native sessions for accent exposure. We are transparent: our local tutor quality bridges to native accent without loss of teaching quality.

Britemy does not sell the "native speaker" mystique for early years. We sell patient, playful teaching processes suited to your little one's pace. WhatsApp us for best-match tutor consultation.

Pertanyaan Umum

Questions Parents Often Ask

My little one is 3 and not fully fluent in Indonesian yet. Will English at this age confuse them?
Children aged 3 to 5 have a remarkable capacity to absorb two languages at once without confusion. The preschool brain sorts language systems naturally, so Indonesian keeps growing. Britemy tutors never force speech; we offer exposure through songs and stories, and your child decides when they are ready to respond.
Isn't 25 minutes too short for a session?
Attention span at ages 3 to 5 is generally 15 to 25 minutes for a guided activity, so 25 minutes is a productive fit. A longer session tends to leave your little one bored, cranky, and losing interest. Twice a week for 25 minutes works better than a single 60-minute weekly class that drains all their energy.
What if my little one is shy and stays silent during the first session?
This is normal and common. First sessions often see your little one simply observing the tutor and occasionally pointing at a picture. It is the silent period, the stage of soaking up language before speech begins. Tutors invite play patiently without pressure. By the third to fifth session most children start returning a hello and copying a favorite word.
Do parents need to speak English themselves to help?
No need. The design deliberately puts the tutor in the role of the English source. Parents can help by replaying the songs from the lesson or reading the picture book again during quiet time. Each week we send a short note with new words and a song link, so parents just press play.
Can online sessions work for a 3-year-old? Are they effective?
Yes, with a few tips. Online sessions at ages 3 to 4 work best when your little one is in play mood, in a quiet room, with a parent seated nearby for the first five minutes to make sure the tutor connects. Tutors use puppets, finger dolls, and interactive slides. If your child responds better in person, in-home tutoring is available in Britemy-covered cities.
How much does it cost, and how do we start the consultation?
Pricing varies by format and city, from the most affordable online rate up to at-home in-person packages. Parents begin by contacting us on WhatsApp at 628164896937 for a free consultation. We ask about your little one's age, favorite topics, and preferred schedule, then match a tutor before sharing full pricing details.
If my child later wants Cambridge YLE certification, can this class prepare them?
Yes. Britemy's preschool class lays the vocabulary and confidence foundation. Once your little one turns 6, the path continues into English for Kids, which prepares Cambridge YLE (Young Learners English) from Starters through Movers and Flyers. We deliberately keep preschool and kids as separate tracks because the methods differ: preschool is play-first, while kids adds gentle reading and writing.
If our goal is an international school or an IB Primary Years placement, is this a good fit?
A very good fit as a foundation. Britemy preschool provides steady English exposure before entering an international school or an International Baccalaureate Primary Years program, so your little one is not surprised when classroom instructions arrive in English. For specific admissions tests (Cambridge YLE Starters, IB PYP assessment), mention it early so the tutor can add a light assessment simulation. If your child later needs formal test strategy (TOEFL/IELTS for study abroad), Exademy (a sibling brand within the Akselera family) is the specialist for test prep pathways.

Terms for parents

Handy Words You Will See Often

So parents can follow the conversation with tutors and read the session notes with ease, here are the key terms that come up in preschool class.

Key term

TPR

Also known as: Total Physical Response

Total Physical Response, a way of teaching language through body movement. The tutor says jump, your little one hops, and the word jump sticks along the way.

Nursery rhymesTraditional English children's songs like Twinkle Twinkle Little Star or Wheels on the Bus, important for tuning the ear to the sounds of English.
PhonicsA way of teaching reading by linking sounds to letters. For preschool this is only about early letter sounds; fluent reading comes later.
Silent periodThe stage when a child absorbs the language without speaking. It commonly lasts a few months and is completely normal; parents do not need to worry.
Pre A1The entry step on the CEFR (European) ladder for beginners in English, a good fit for preschoolers meeting English for the first time.
Phonemic awarenessThe awareness that words are made of small sounds. For example, the word cat is made of k, a, t sounds. This is a foundation for reading later.

A short storybook with big pictures. Tutor reads dramatically while your little one touches the images. Focus is enjoyment, not a comprehension test.

23-25 min

Wave Goodbye

Closing Ritual

Sing the Goodbye Song and wave. Tutor gives a virtual high-five and tells parents what your little one enjoyed today.

Every little one moves at a different pace. If the first session is still shy, that is normal and actually a signal for the tutor to be gentler. Progress shows up after 3 to 5 consistent sessions.

How to start

Four Steps for Parents to Begin the Consultation

The process is light so families do not feel rushed. Everything can be handled over WhatsApp.

  1. Step 1WhatsApp Britemy

Send a message to Britemy at 628164896937 with your little one's age and a preferred schedule (for example late afternoon after their nap).

  2. Step 2Short discussion

An admin asks about your little one's interests (dinosaurs or princesses, for instance) so we can match a tutor who can step into their world.

  3. Step 3Free WhatsApp consultation

We schedule a consultation session with the matched tutor. Parents sit close by so your little one feels safe throughout.

  4. Step 4Continue with regular sessions

If the fit is right, choose a regular package. If chemistry is off, we swap tutors at no charge before any paid package.
