Britemy preschool tutor expertise
Tutors Who Are Happy to Sit on the Floor with Your Little One
We select tutors with real hours teaching young children, with patience and a warm voice. Academic background matters, and so does the discipline to not rush a correction.
Children aged 3 to 5 sit inside a silent period, when they absorb the language long before they dare to produce a first word. Britemy tutors understand this stage and celebrate every word that finally arrives.
English literature or early-childhood degrees
Our tutors hold degrees in English literature or early-childhood education, so both language structure and child development stay in trusted hands.
Trained storytellers
Tutors can switch voices for each character, know when to pause and ask a question, and are patient enough to let your little one respond at their own tempo.
TESOL or TEFL for Young Learners
Where available, we prioritize tutors certified in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) or TEFL with a young-learner track, as a method safeguard.
Playful consultation before regular sessions
Before any paid package, tutors run a WhatsApp consultation so your little one gets acquainted. If chemistry feels off, we swap tutors at no extra cost.

Method
How Britemy Invites Your Little One into English
Children aged 3 to 5 learn best when they are playing, moving, and feeling safe. We design each session so that joy comes first and English words follow naturally.
Warm-up with a hello song
The first minute opens with a simple greeting song like Hello Song while waving hands. The goal is to melt any shyness and switch your little one into play mode from the very start.
TPR, listen and act
TPR (Total Physical Response) means learning a language through body movement. The tutor says stand up, jump, clap while acting it out. Your child mirrors the movement first, and the English word settles in.
Interactive story time
The tutor reads a short picture book such as Brown Bear or The Very Hungry Caterpillar. Your little one points at pictures, names the colors, and copies the animal sounds. We chase joyful exposure; memorization arrives on its own later.
Short themed play
After the story we play flashcard guessing, color matching, or an English Simon Says. The game lasts about seven minutes so the session stays fun and never drains your little one's focus.
Closing and a note for parents
We close with a bye-bye song, a digital sticker, and a short note listing the new words practiced today plus a link to the song, so parents can replay it together at home.

Why Britemy
Why Parents Choose Britemy
One tutor per little one
The tutor focuses fully on a single child. There is no waiting for turns as in a playgroup, and no louder child taking over the room.
Tutors matched to character
We handpick tutors who are patient, softly spoken, and experienced with early-childhood learners. If the fit is off, we swap tutors free of charge.
Preschool-friendly session length
The 25-minute session mirrors the attention span of a 3 to 5-year-old. We never push a 60-minute class that turns boredom into tears.
Parents welcome to stay nearby
During the session, parents are welcome to sit close by or peek in from beside the laptop. Full transparency, always.
Songs, stories, and games in rotation
We weave nursery rhymes, picture books, and movement games into one session. Your little one hardly notices they are learning English.
Short weekly report
Parents receive a short note listing new words mastered, favorite songs, and playful tips to keep the momentum at home.
Flexible at home or over video call
Tutors can visit at home in Britemy's covered cities, or teach over video call wherever your little one happens to be.
Vocabulary Themes
Vocabulary Your Little One Masters Per Level
Vocabulary themes chosen from your little one's real world: toys, family, food, favorite animals. Words introduced through songs, picture cards, and short stories.
Pre-A1 Self and Family 9 kata
"This is my mommy. I love you, daddy."
First words that are most emotional for your little one, making sessions feel close and safe.
Pre-A1 Numbers and Colors 11 kata
"I have three red balloons."
Foundation for counting and describing objects. Often used in international preschools.
A1 Junior Animals and Pets 10 kata
"The cat is sleeping. The dog is playing."
Kids generally love animals, so vocabulary sticks easily while playing.
A1 Junior Food and Drinks 10 kata
"I like apples. Can I have milk, please?"
Often used at the dining table with family, easy to practice at home.
A2 Junior Body Parts 10 kata
"My tummy hurts. Please touch your nose."
Useful for body movement games and doctor-patient roleplay.
A2 Junior Daily Actions 10 kata
"Let's jump! I can dance."
Basic verbs that let your little one start combining subject and verb.
Preschool sessions always mix new words with old ones so nothing is forgotten. Parents get printable word cards monthly.
Reasonable expectations
Realistic Progress after 3, 6, and 12 Months
Every child moves at their own pace. The numbers below reflect general ranges we often see, offered as a rough reference for parents.
Active spontaneous vocabulary after three months of two sessions per week
Nursery rhymes mastered and sung around the room by heart
Greeting phrases like hello, thank you, bye-bye said spontaneously
For preschool age, what matters most is joy: your little one lights up when the tutor arrives and dares to try English words without fear of mistakes. Vocabulary numbers follow on their own.
Comparison
Comparing Early-Age English Options
There are many paths to introduce English to a little one. Below is an honest map so parents can pick what fits the family.
| Aspek | Britemy Preschool Private | YouTube Kids Videos | Preschool Learning Apps | Bilingual Playgroup Class |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Tutor attention for your child | Full, one tutor per child | No two-way interaction | Limited by the algorithm; no live human tutor | Divided among 4 to 8 other children |
| Adaptation to a child's interests | Tutor tailors themes to favorites | No personalization | Fixed default menu | Uniform group curriculum |
| Screen time | Zero when the tutor visits at home | Long and passive | Long, lightly interactive | Zero, thanks to in-person setting |
| Comfort for a shy child | Very safe, inside their own home | Safe but with no interaction | Safe but with little human connection | Can feel awkward at first |
| Monthly cost | Moderate, priced per session | Free with ads | Low monthly subscription | High, one semester package |

Native vs Local
Native or Local Tutor for Your Little One? We Are Honest
Many parents ask: is native better than local for preschool? Britemy's answer is not absolute, it depends on your little one's goals and developmental stage. Here is an honest per-dimension comparison so you can decide with a clear head.
Truly native accent (US, UK, AU) from birth. Your little one picks up natural rhythm through songs and stories.
Clean international accent (C1-C2 CEFR), TESOL/CELTA for Young Learners trained. Local alumni tutors from abroad are equivalent.
For ages 3-5, accent is not the main goal. What matters most is consistent, playful exposure.
Untrained native may not understand Indonesian preschooler dynamics (Bahasa Indonesia mother tongue, silent period, mood swings).
Indonesian local tutor understands your little one: when shy, when tired, when to switch activity. Natural empathy.
For ages 3-5, local tutor is more adaptive. Native becomes an option after your little one is confident.
Trained native understands silent period. Untrained natives sometimes rush for responses.
Britemy local tutors are trained specifically on silent period. Patient waiting for your little one to be ready in their own time.
For silent period phase (usually first 3-6 months), local tutor is far calmer.
Most natives cannot speak Bahasa Indonesia, cannot bridge instruction if your little one gets stuck.
Local tutor can switch to Bahasa Indonesia when your little one is confused, but minimally (5-10% total session).
Ages 3-5 need occasional Bahasa Indonesia bridge. Local is more suitable.
Native understands story intonation naturally, but may not know Indonesian favorite children's songs.
Local tutor bridges Indonesian songs to English, plus knows international nursery rhymes.
Local tutor for cultural bridge. Native for polishing storytelling intonation.
Native fee 1.5-2x local, timezone can be issue if based abroad.
Local tutor fee more affordable, same timezone.
For routine 2x/week sessions, local tutor is more sustainable long-term.
For your little one aged 3-5, Britemy default recommends TESOL/CELTA for Young Learners certified local tutors. After first words emerge (usually 3-6 months), you can request native sessions for accent exposure. We are transparent: our local tutor quality bridges to native accent without loss of teaching quality.
Britemy does not sell the "native speaker" mystique for early years. We sell patient, playful teaching processes suited to your little one's pace. WhatsApp us for best-match tutor consultation.

Parent Guide
How Parents Support Little Ones Learning English at Home
A 30-minute Britemy session works best when English exposure at home is consistent. Here are 5 light activities you can do together with your little one, no need to be fluent in English yourself.
Every morning English Breakfast 5 Minutes
While eating breakfast, name foods in English. You can start with "This is your milk", "Here is your bread". Your little one will begin imitating within days.
After school Song Time 10 Minutes
Play 2 to 3 Super Simple Songs or Cocomelon on YouTube. You join singing along and moving with the songs (Head Shoulders Knees Toes).
Before bedtime Story Time 15 Minutes
Read 1 picture book in English. If your little one is not fluent yet, retell in Bahasa Indonesia first, then point to pictures and name objects in English.
Weekends English Movie Time
Watch English animation (Frozen, Moana, Lion King) with English subtitles. You can pause and ask "What did she say?" to check comprehension.
Daily briefly English Command Time
Switch 3 to 5 daily instructions to English: "Please brush your teeth", "Come to the table", "Time to sleep". Use consistent sentences, your little one understands from context.
What to do
- Enjoy the process, do not expect fluency in a month
- Praise every effort, even just 1 word
- Consistent daily English in small activities
- Sing and move together so sessions feel like play
- Follow up on themes learned in Britemy sessions
- WhatsApp the tutor if unsure how to practice at home
× What to avoid
- Do not force your little one to speak English when tired or upset
- Do not harshly correct grammar, let them explore first
- Do not compare with neighbours' or relatives' kids
- Do not target long duration (30 minutes in 1 session), better short and frequent
- Do not shut off Bahasa Indonesia, bilingual is great for the brain
- Do not use punishment for mistakes, keep it playful
You get a monthly progress report from your Britemy tutor, plus a list of home activities suitable for weekly themes.

A Peek Inside the WhatsApp Consultation
So parents know what happens in class, here is a summary of the activities a Britemy tutor typically uses during a first free consultation.
Hello Song and Feelings Check
- Hello, hello, how are you?
- I am happy, I am sad
- I am sleepy, I am hungry

A reading of Brown Bear Brown Bear What Do You See, with your little one copying the sentences and pointing to the animals.
Real materials are richer and shift to your little one's interests (dinosaurs, princesses, cars, animals) once the tutor gets to know their personality.
First Sounds
English Sounds Your Preschooler Meets First
Four foundational sounds we introduce to your little one through songs and body movement. Ages 3-5 don't need IPA notation yet.just fun mimicry and playful repetition.
B sound (ball, baby, bunny)
Easiest sound, but needs practice for firmness
Press both lips together, then release with a small voiced burst. Tutor sings Baa Baa Black Sheep tapping thighs on each B sound.
M sound (mommy, moon, milk)
Familiar but needs to be held for length
Press lips together and hummm. Feel the vibration in your nose. Tutor uses Mmm Mmm song while your little one touches tutor's cheek to feel the buzz.
S sound (sun, snake, sister)
Sometimes disappears or turns into "th"
Teeth close, tongue tip near upper teeth, gentle hiss like a snake ssss. Tutor makes wavy snake-arm motion.
TH sound (thumb, three)
Hardest sound, but introduced early via songs
Tongue tip out slightly between teeth, blow softly. Tutor uses mirror so your little one sees the tongue placement. Just introduction here.mastery comes later in Kids class.
Preschool sessions never demand perfection. What matters: your little one is happy mimicking the tutor while playing. Every child progresses at their own pace, and we celebrate every new word that comes out.
Britemy process promises

Warm-up
Warm Hello via Puppet
Tutor uses your little one's favourite puppet (if available) to say Hello. Your little one is not pushed to reply; a smile or wave is enough.
Song Time
Sing English Children's Songs
Two picks: Twinkle Twinkle Little Star + Head Shoulders Knees and Toes. Tutor demonstrates the actions, your little one joins in as they can.
Play Learn
Picture Cards TPR
Colour or animal cards. Tutor says the English word plus an action (e.g., Red = clap for red, Cat = pretend to be a cat). Your little one follows along without memorising.
Story Snippet
3-Page Picture Story
A short storybook with big pictures. Tutor reads dramatically while your little one touches the images. Focus is enjoyment, not a comprehension test.
Wave Goodbye
Closing Ritual
Sing the Goodbye Song and wave. Tutor gives a virtual high-five and tells parents what your little one enjoyed today.
Every little one moves at a different pace. If the first session is still shy, that is normal and actually a signal for the tutor to be gentler. Progress shows up after 3 to 5 consistent sessions.
