Britemy Signature
ESP Tutors Ready to Learn Your Field Alongside You
Britemy ESP tutors are adult educators used to learning new industry contexts together with their students. We match you with a tutor ready to read your field brief and build materials from your real work.
ESP often fails when the tutor forces a single industry template onto every profession. Britemy takes a different route: the tutor collaborates with you to understand vocabulary specific to your field, because you are the industry expert and the tutor is the language expert. This combination produces a class that feels truly relevant.
Curriculum born from your brief
Before the first session, Britemy admin sends a short form to map your industry, role, and required English communication. The curriculum emerges from your answers and differs page by page based on your profession brief.
Vocabulary bank for your specific field
Across the first three or four sessions the tutor builds a vocabulary bank of 200 to 400 core terms unique to your field. The bank keeps growing in later sessions along with the real tasks you handle.
Roleplay from cases on your desk
Roleplay scenarios come from the communication cases you handle this week, for example a call with a foreign supplier, a pitch to an overseas client, or a presentation to international management. You practise the exact language you need tomorrow morning.
Two-layer feedback: language and communication
The tutor does more with correction than fix grammar alone. You also receive notes on argument building, intonation choices, and message ordering to make your communication feel more convincing within your industry context.
- B1Join field meetings, write standard email
- B2Lead product or service presentations to clients
- C1Negotiate contracts, media interviews, international panels
CEFR is the global standard for English levels from A1 beginner to C2 mastery. Niche professionals interacting with foreign clients or partners generally sit between B2 and C1.
Tutor Credentials
Britemy Tutor Standards for ESP Classes
Britemy ESP tutors are curated through a teaching interview, an assessment of English for profession materials, and a check on their flexibility in building custom curricula from a student brief. We remain transparent about the tutor profile who will guide you.
TESOL, CELTA, or TEFL
International English teaching certifications that set the standard for Britemy adult classes. Tutors apply communicative principles from these credentials to your industry context.
Familiar with ESP methodology
Tutors have studied English for Specific Purposes, the branch of applied linguistics that focuses on English for specific professions and industries.
Portfolio across multi-industry adult classes
Some Britemy tutors have delivered custom classes for creative agencies, fine dining restaurants, sports clubs, digital marketing teams, and other fields, bringing custom curriculum experience into your private sessions.
Collaboration with the field expert
Tutors are used to positioning themselves as learning partners where you are the industry expert and the tutor is the language expert. This collaboration produces sharper curricula.
Britemy handles the English communication for your profession. For technical certifications in your field, please consult the relevant professional association. If you need TOEFL or IELTS score strategy for overseas applications, our team directs you to Exademy, the test prep brand in the same ecosystem.
Method
How Britemy Designs an ESP Class for Your Field
ESP for specialised professions stands on one principle: general English is a poor fit for professions with their own vocabulary and unique scenarios. Britemy discusses with you first to map the work context, then the tutor builds materials that truly land on your desk on Monday morning.
Initial discussion of your field
In the first session the tutor explores your profession: which industry, your specific role, the documents you handle, and the moments of English communication that feel most challenging. Examples: a creative director at an agency needs client brief vocabulary; a chef needs tasting menu vocabulary; a sports coach needs technique instruction vocabulary.
Industry vocabulary mapping
The tutor assembles a list of 200 to 400 core terms unique to your industry. Terms are drilled in active sentences that connect to real context, so vocabulary sticks through repeated use in the tasks and roleplay of following sessions.
Roleplay of your real scenarios
Roleplay is drawn from the communication scenarios you actually face. Creative professionals practice international media interviews; chefs practice hosting a tasting session with a food critic; coaches practice giving technique instruction to foreign athletes.
Writing your work documents
You practise writing the documents you need most often, for example creative briefs, culinary menu descriptions, sports training plans, or digital marketing campaign reports. The tutor edits while explaining diction choices unique to your industry.
Feedback from recordings and drafts
Every session ends with a roleplay recording or a document draft you can review later. The tutor provides specific notes on intonation, word choice, and argument structure. The notes are concrete and ready for your next work communication.
Reflection and weekly task
Each session closes with three new terms that stuck, one error pattern that was tidied up, and a realistic weekly task for your schedule, for example writing one product description or recording a two-minute pitch about a recent project.

Process Promise
Britemy Service Promises for Custom ESP Classes
We avoid promises of fluency within a fixed number of months because every professional moves at their own pace and niche industries vary in complexity. What Britemy can guarantee is an honest, collaborative process reviewed regularly against your real progress in the field.
Custom curriculum from the first sessions
You receive a written curriculum outline within the first two sessions, assembled from your profession brief. If the outline needs tuning, we revise it together until you feel a good fit, before moving to the core material.
Free tutor swap if the fit is off
If after two or three sessions you feel the tutor is less connected to your field, we assign a replacement at no extra cost. The fit between tutor and your industry is our responsibility.
Flexible rescheduling for work rhythm
We understand project deadlines, shoot days, events, or match seasons are hard to predict. Rescheduling is allowed at least six hours before a session with no credit deducted, and the session still counts in your monthly package.
Confidentiality of your brief and work documents
The profession brief, proposal drafts, or work documents you bring into a session are treated as confidential. Britemy tutors and admin staff are bound to keep your information private, and we recommend you redact sensitive client data before the session.
Student Reviews
Stories from Niche Professionals Learning at Britemy
The 60-minute evening slot fits me since I pitch twice a week. The Britemy tutor focused on client brief language for global markets. I feel calmer now presenting concepts to regional clients without panicking when asked about the rationale.
I often host international food critics. The tutor helped me craft more elegant tasting language, from introducing local ingredients to wine pairing. Guest feedback has been steadily more positive over the last three months.
My club regularly hosts Southeast Asian athletes. Before joining Britemy classes, I struggled to give technique instructions in English. Now I can guide footwork and smash drills without pausing long to search for words.

Roleplay Scenario: Sports Coach Instruction
Guiding a Visiting Athlete Through Technique Drill
You are a badminton coach receiving a junior athlete from Australia for a two-week training camp at your club. Your morning session guides footwork and smash drills. You need to explain the technique with clear patient English, demonstrate the movement, correct foot placement, and give positive encouragement after the drill. The tutor plays the athlete who occasionally miscues and asks clarifying questions.
- Which opening instruction is clearest to start the drill
- How do you correct foot position without sounding judgemental
- Which motivation phrase is safe across cultures for an Australian athlete
Simulation of a coach giving technique instruction to a foreign athlete.
The real materials for you are assembled from your profession brief during the first session.

Pertanyaan Umum
Questions Niche Professionals Ask Us Most
How does Britemy make sure the tutor understands my niche industry?

Pronunciation Drill
English Sounds Indonesian Speakers Find Tricky
Eight sounds that most often cause miscommunication for Indonesian English speakers. Britemy sessions train articulation concretely with IPA and minimal pairs, not by chasing native accents.
Voiceless TH
Often swapped with /t/ or /s/
Tongue tip slightly out between upper and lower teeth, breathe out without vocal cord vibration.
Voiced TH
Often swapped with /d/ or /z/
Same tongue position as /θ/, but vibrate vocal cords. Sound is more vibratory and shorter.
V labiodental
Often pronounced /f/ or even /w/
Upper teeth touch inside of lower lip, vibrate vocal cords. Different from /f/ (no vibration), different from /w/ (rounded lips).
Schwa
The most common sound in English but often ignored
Mouth fully relaxed, tongue central, neutral short "uh" sound. Appears in unstressed syllables.
SH vs S
SH often pronounced as S in words like "she"
For /ʃ/: lips slightly rounded and pushed forward, tongue up to palate. For /s/: lips smiling, tongue near teeth.
Short I vs Long EE
Bit vs beat, ship vs sheep often sound the same
For /ɪ/: short, tongue mid-high, mouth less wide. For /iː/: long, tongue front high, mouth in a wide smile.
Short A open
Does not exist in Indonesian, often becomes /e/ or /a/
Open mouth wide as if yawning, tongue front low. Sound is long and "flat".
Ending -ed past tense
Often pronounced "walk-ed" should be "walkt"
After voiceless consonant (walk, kiss): /-t/. After voiced consonant (love, live): /-d/. After /t/ /d/ (want, need): /-ɪd/.
Britemy does not train you to mimic a native accent. What we train: sounds that cause miscommunication (thin becoming tin, ship becoming sheep). After 20-30 consistent sessions, these distinctions become natural.
Comparison
Britemy ESP vs Other Language Learning Choices
An honest comparison of approaches to English for niche professions. Every option has its strengths; we simply weigh the fit for professionals who need specific vocabulary and scenarios from their field.
| Aspek | Britemy ESP One-on-One | Company Internal Training | General English Course | Self-Study on YouTube |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Student ratio per session | One tutor per professional | Group of 15 to 40 participants | Group of 8 to 15 participants across industries | Solo learning with no chat partner |
| Fit of material with your field | Assembled from your profession brief | Standard curriculum for all employees | General material that does not touch niche fields | Public content that may miss your field |
| Practice on real field communication | Roleplay and document drafting every session | Limited due to group time | Focuses on general topics, light on specific fields | Difficult without a correcting partner |
| Schedule flexibility for your profession | Morning, afternoon, evening, weekend flexible | Set by HR or L and D | Fixed batch times that rarely fit work hours | Any time yet without routine accountability |
| Feedback per communication piece | Live per roleplay recording and draft | General, rarely touching individual detail | Present, yet not specific to your industry | No human correction |

Native vs Local
Native or Local Tutor for Your Business English?
For multinational professionals, tutor choice depends on your role and interactions. Here is honest per-dimension comparison so you can choose with proper judgment.
Truly native accent. Fits if you often deal with US/UK/AU HQ.
Clean international accent. Overseas MBA alumni are equivalent.
Native if executive role daily communication with HQ. Local sufficient for managerial role with mixed expats.
Ex-corporate native understands vocab and business idiom naturally.
MNC/MBA alumni local tutor can break down vocab to Indonesian context with local case studies.
Native to polish natural idiom. Local for vocab applicable in your context.
Native understands Western meeting dynamics: turn-taking, disagreement etiquette, humor timing.
Local tutor can bridging: when to respect Indonesian colleague, when direct with expat.
Both fit. Choose based on your target audience: HQ vs mixed local team.
Native varies. Some understand Indonesian context well, some do not.
Local tutor understands Indonesian work culture and can bridge to Western norms.
Local for bridging role. Native for full immersion Western culture.
Native brings Western case studies that may be abstract for your context.
Local tutor brings Indonesian office case studies directly applicable.
Local more actionable for daily practice. Native for Western scenario exposure.
Fee 1.5-2x local. Timezone issue if native abroad.
Affordable fee, flexible evening/weekend sessions.
For 3-6 month intensive program, local more sustainable in ROI.
Britemy default recommends certified local tutor + MNC corporate experience for business English. After you're solid, periodic native sessions (say 2x per month) to polish accent and Western cultural context. For roles needing full-native exposure, request tutor rotation.
Britemy transparent: native tutor fee higher. We do not force you to use native if your goal can be achieved with local + periodic combination.
